IT Infrastructure & Support
Managed IT services, server support, and network design for Cape Town businesses and schools. Over 20 years of expertise.
Reliable IT infrastructure is the backbone of every productive business and school in Cape Town. When your network goes down, your server fails, or your staff cannot access critical data, every minute costs money and disrupts operations. ASH Electronics has been solving IT challenges for businesses and schools across the Southern Suburbs since 2005, providing the kind of dependable, hands-on support that keeps your technology working — not just patched together.
Unlike large corporate IT firms that treat small and medium businesses as an afterthought, we focus exclusively on the Cape Town market. From Lansdowne and Athlone to Claremont, Wynberg, Kenilworth, and Rondebosch, our engineers are never far away. Our managed IT clients enjoy proactive monitoring and maintenance — we spot problems before they cause downtime, rather than waiting for something to break.
We are proud to work alongside the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) on school IT projects, giving us deep experience in the unique requirements of educational environments where hundreds of devices, child-safe filtering, and budget constraints all come into play. Whether you are a three-person startup that needs basic desktop support, a 50-user business that needs a proper server room, or a school that needs its entire network redesigned — ASH Electronics delivers IT solutions that are built to last, documented thoroughly, and supported with real SLA commitments.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an IT support contract cost for a small business in Cape Town?
IT support contracts vary based on the number of users, servers, and the level of coverage required. For a small business of 5–15 users, monthly SLA contracts typically range from R2,500 to R8,000 per month covering remote and on-site support. We offer flexible packages — from pure break-fix support to fully managed IT where we proactively monitor and maintain your entire infrastructure. Contact us for a free assessment and tailored quote.
What is your typical response time for IT support calls?
Our standard SLA provides a 4-hour on-site response time for critical issues during business hours (08:00–17:00 Monday to Friday). For remote support, we aim to respond within 1–2 hours. Priority SLA clients receive a 2-hour on-site response guarantee. Emergency after-hours support is available for qualifying contracts. We serve clients across Lansdowne, the Southern Suburbs, Cape Town CBD, and surrounds.
Do you provide remote IT support or only on-site visits?
We provide both. Most software, configuration, and troubleshooting issues are resolved remotely using secure remote-access tools, which means faster resolution and no travel delays. On-site visits are scheduled for hardware installations, server work, cable runs, and issues that cannot be resolved remotely. Many of our managed IT clients go weeks without needing an on-site visit because we catch and fix problems before they escalate.
What size business do you typically work with?
We work with businesses of all sizes — from 3-person startups in Lansdowne to schools with 300+ devices and multi-branch companies across Cape Town. Our sweet spot is small to medium businesses (SMBs) that need enterprise-quality IT without the enterprise price tag. We also have extensive experience with schools and educational institutions, including working alongside the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) on school IT projects.
Can you take over IT support from our existing IT provider?
Yes. We handle IT takeovers regularly. The process starts with a full audit of your current infrastructure — documenting servers, network equipment, software licenses, and any outstanding issues. We then create a transition plan to take over support with minimal disruption. Most transitions are completed within 2–4 weeks. We often find and resolve long-standing issues during the audit phase that the previous provider had overlooked.
Do you handle server installations and upgrades?
Server work is a core part of what we do. We install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments including Active Directory, file servers, print servers, and cloud-hybrid setups. We also handle virtualization with Hyper-V, backup configuration, and server room design. Whether you need a new server installed in Wynberg or an aging server upgraded in Claremont, our team handles the full project from procurement to go-live.
What backup and disaster recovery options do you offer?
We implement layered backup strategies tailored to your business: local NAS backups for fast recovery, off-site cloud backups for disaster protection, and automated backup monitoring with alerting. For critical systems, we configure full image-based backups that allow bare-metal recovery — restoring an entire server in hours rather than days. We also conduct annual disaster recovery drills for clients on managed contracts to verify backups actually work.
